Lauren Griffitts-

Lauren was born and raised in Great Bend where she started dancing at age 3 continuing on through high school. She competed starting at a young age in studio dance and then Argonne in high school. She was also on her high school dance team all four years, but decided to take a break in college. She has made several big moves around Kansas in the last few years with her final one coming back home to Great Bend with my husband, Patrick. She is currently working at the hospital in Great Bend as an Ultrasound Tech. She is so excited to get back into the dance life through starting at the studio as an instructor this year.  She remembers all of her coaches and the impact they had on her growing up, with current EDC owner Lindsay and instructor Tasha being two of her favorites. She can’t wait to have that same impact on other dancers!

Tasha Jones -

Tasha has been training since I was 5 years old, however did not dance competitively until high school. She was also on the Velocity Dance team all four years at Russell High School. She thrived on stage and decided to attend Barton Community College where she continued dancing competitively. She was captain her Sophomore year and also coached Argonne. She decided to take her training to the next level and major in Dance at Wichita State University. She took a couple years off school but finally graduated in 2017. Upon graduating, her senior solo was asked to perform at a festival and she was also awarded 2017 Choreographer of the Year by the WSU Dance Professors. While in Wichita she got the pleasure of working at the YMCA. She was able to directly impact lives due to the nonprofit status and share her knowledge with passionate dancers. She was awarded Most Valuable Teammate by her co-workers her first year. Quickly, she worked her way up and became the Coordinator over Dance, Gymnastics and Tumbling. She eventually became the Director over the same programs and rebranded the team. Her first year as Director she was nominated and awarded the 2018-2019 Leadership Award by the CEO of the Greater Wichita YMCA. Tasha loves teaching, but impacting lives and being able to see it first hand and how it can transform a person is her passion. Every child is important and it is always her goal to make each and everyone of them feel seen.
